It's easy giving advice about good nutrition for kids, but when it actually comes to making the food, you might be lacking in inspiration. That's why we have devised a list of recipes which are easy and fun to make with your kids for breakfast!
Soft Boiled Egg and Toast Soldiers

I always remember this being a treat at my Grandma's house because she had a collection of egg cups. Every morning we got to choose an eggcup for our breakfast egg. I'm not saying start an eggcup collection! But do involve your kid in choosing one. If they know it's their special egg cup, they're more likely to use it. Kids love the whole process of cracking the egg shell and peeling it off, then dipping the buttery soldiers in!
1-Boil some water in a saucepan. Add a pinch of salt.
2-Place the egg in the boiling water. Cook for 3mins.
3-Meanwhile toast some bread.
4-Spread butter on the toast and cut the toast lengthways to create ‘soldiers'.
5-Remove from the saucepan with a slotted spoon and allow to cool on a plate for a minute.
6-Place the egg in an egg cup. Break the egg, peel the shell, dip the soldiers in the soft runny yolk and enjoy!
Pancakes

Pancakes are so easy to make, kids love them. Get your kids involved in making the pancake mix.
Ingredients:
- 100g Plain flour
- 1 egg
- 300ml Milk
- Olive oil
- A pinch of salt
1-Place the flour and salt together in a mixing bowl. Make a well in the centre. Add half the milk and the egg. Mix till very smooth.
2-Add the other half of the milk. Mix again and leave to stand for 20mins.
3-Heat a dash of olive oil in a frying pan.
4-Once the pan is hot, turn the heat to medium and ladle out one spoonful of the pancake mix into the pan. Swirl the mix around the edges by moving the pan.
5-Once the pancake mix is right round the frying pan, let it cook until the mix turns from a liquid white consistency to a firmer yellowish colour.
6-Flip the pancake over. Cook for a further 2mins.
7-Slide pancake out of the frying pan and onto a big plate. Place the plate in a warm oven so that it'll keep the pancake warm whilst your making the rest of them.
Variations: Add blueberries or sliced banana to the pancake mix. Serve with maple syrup or sugar and lime juice.
